Out of Pocket

For the second succesive day, I have to leave work early to pick up my car. Got halfway to the garage yesterday, only to find out via a phone call that it had failed the MOT and needed new brake pads, discs and some new bearings. I'm going to start a sweepstake on exactly how many arms and legs this is going to cost me - my guess is about £1200. Anyone fancy a punt ?

I reckon it'll cost a damn sight more than if you didn't own a Jag!

Probably about £800. I trust that you aren't going through a Jag dealer? If the car is old enough to warrant an MOT then I'd suggest steering clear of main dealers.

Could be worse, you could own an MG or a Rover...

Actually, it was more like £1100. I don't always use main Jag dealers, but on this occasion I needed a service and MOT at the same time, so it was the easiest thing.
